remember there are like 24 of them if you use 12 jars... and if it contaminates you only loose 1/24th of your batch.... not bad for newbies methinks...

Yes, contamination, what sets experts apart from newbies. Not a bad tek, however casing is very possible for a first time grower. I'm sure most of us here were succesful first time casing.

Yes, the TEK uses cups as the casing container... but actually, for best results first flush, your supposed to take the casing out when you pin it (so that it pins on the sides too) and just grow it in a grow chamber liek normal.

Why take it out? Wouldnt that just be like, never really casing and just cutting cakes in half and throwing them in the fruiting chamber?

With this tek, when you take the cake out of the cup, isnt it basically a double ended casing? You'd be better off just doing that in your jars, and then you have the whole thing ready to go when you birthed the cake.

ok i have my cakes already colonized and i want to birth them. i will follow these sets..now why would i take it out of the cups? wouldn't it be better if u left it in the cup...also the picture shows that he grew them in the cup

Did you guys even read the tek???

It says it right there "the ability to yield as much as possible on the first flush"

That pretty much explains everything... but I'll do the thinking for you:

The point of taking the casings out of the cups is to allow them to pin on the sides (more shrooms your first flush)

The reason for trying to get the most shrooms your first flush is because in casing (as it says in the tek) they almost never contaminate before the first flush, but can get contaminated later on... so by getting the most the first time, the newbie grower will get more in the long run, while a 'pro' is able to get many flushes from their casing, allowing them to make almost the same amount (obviously more if the grower rally know what he is doing.... and supposively later flushed have higher potency, as stated in the TEK)

So, pretty much, read the tek, it really says everything you need to know to find out why you should (or should not) use the tek.

And yes, you can leave them in the cups like the images posted, just you won't get as much your first flush, and if they get contaminated, you wont get as much in the long run.
