jesus can you imagine if the you had big bussiness selling you acid

That would be great. You wouldn't have to worry about some scummy dealer selling you bunk acid and you would know exactly how large of a dose you were consuming. If some dipshit sits there and watches tv the whole time while on acid, that's his problem, not mine. He gets to choose what he does, and if he wants to be a worthless piece of humanity, it takes no skin of my back.

Oh yeah, plus it could be made and purchased much cheaper.

Well I can understand the sentiment fully, but I do not understand how others choose to use the drug or how some companies will sell it or anything like that should play any signifgant role in one's own life, one's own choices, and one's own usage.

Its overlooking the point, as well, that it really isn't going to be "product", regardless of its legal status. Companies would have to be sensitive to the risks involved and couldn't simply portray it as some hip party favor - they'd have to respect its nature or suffer as a result, parent groups on their ass and all. :smirk:

that is true, they would have to have a ton of warnings on the packaging warning about bad trips, psychotic disorders and use of LSD, and all that good stuff.

Its just sort of against my morals to buy LSD from walmart is more or less what i mean.

They will 100% for SURE have small business LSD if it were to be legalized however. Thats the stuff i would go for.

What difference would it make? It would most likely be manufactured at the same factory and would be composed of the exact same ingredients.

I can't wait until they sell marijuana at Wal*Mart. Cross-merchandise it with the Doritos. :smirk: Open 24 hours, and all of the munchies you could ever need.... :headbang:

its not so much how its made its how people profit off of it. i wouldnt want some big business guy profiting off of what i like to do. i would much prefer my money go towards some one who doesNT have a mutlimillion dollar bank account is all i mean.

i have problems with supporting the big guy is all.

Edited: changed does to doesnt

Small businesses would be profiting just as much for each unit sold.

but the difference is that the small business owner most likely wouldnt be using my money for a yacht, and i think once you own a large business a lot of people lose all of their connection with the consumer and what is actually good for them, and just focus on the bottom line. A lot of large businesses such as McDonalds, would rather expand their business than improve the quality of their meat to make their product healthier and taste better.

But instead they focus on the bottom line, and huge amounts of money flow towards the pocket of the company heads.

What's wrong with making money? The last time I checked, that was the point of a business.

Actually, business lies dependent upon the manners in which the customers wish to be served. Perhaps a corporate officer is only interested in the bottom line, but if the customer was interested in healthier, better-tasting food, then, out of interest of that bottom line, they would change their business accordingly to match the needs of their customers.

With a business such as Mc Donald's, the customers are primarily not concerned with quality, but price - just like Wal*Mart. That is why that corporate officer would prefer to keep prices lower than offer more quality. The customers that are more interested in quality will go to a more premium establishment.

Corporations, after all, only exist because of the personal choices that individuals make.

which is why i choose smaller businesses

I dunno i guess i would just much rather see a bunch of smaller businesses than a corporate giant, even if they do make things very cheap, and very cost effective. I like the small business feel, i like the family-run atmosphere that you just dont get with places like walmart or McDonalds.

Walmarts business ethics make it a corporate bully for the most part. they rob small business (not sure if its deliberate or not) of supplies that they need to run their business, and to resell to the public by ordering enormous amounts of said product, making the factory pressed to only fill out walmart's order, and push aside the small business.

Sure it helps the factory workers and the factory a lot, but if screws the little guy pretty badly. I dont care if other people go there but i have pretty strict morals for my "shopping" and eating and so forth. I have plenty of pro-walmart big business arguments but i dont really like to support such businesses.

i agree with you whole-heartedly. we arent doing anything but hurting our own people in this "war." by putting potheads, LSD users, mushroom dealers and so forth in jail, we really arent getting any accomplished but doing just that. Jail for some people even make them into more of a public threat than they were before they went in. The way the conditions inside a prison are, it forces a lot of people to change, and change dramatically.

I think either prisons should be a lot less of a hellhole, and just leaving it at a detatchment from the outside world, or we should cut the shit and stop arresting people for using drugs. (or prefereably both)

thats exactly why i'm glad lsd is illegal...
...i feel bad that get busted by the cops...
but come on, poeple are dumb enought with substances already.

look at how poeple use salvia, alchohol, tobacco.  before they were made illegal exctasy, ketamine, ghb.

perhaps i feel that the more risk one has to take (including the important part of associating with "criminal" elements) to use lsd hopefully the more thoughtful a person will be about it.

edit: also, mcdonalds isn't cheap, and, the company makes hundreds of millions of dollars a year it could otherwise use to drive the price down... or pay thier workers more...

i agree with that some-what, but i do think that proper eduaction is the means necisary for responsible usage of drugs. I dont think that deeming a substance illegal will help to teach people anything about it. in fact i believe it would do just the opposite. I think it would spread disinformation about the drug/drugs, and make ignorance more of an obstacle when approaching a drug.

So you would rather have people thrown in jail than for Wal-Mart to sell LSD? That sounds pretty elitist to me.

Compared to any of its competitors, yes it is cheap. You could point to its hundreds of millions of dollars a year profit, but what you are neglecting is perceiving that number within the appropriate scale. What do you think the percentage is for their profit margin?

thier pretax profit margin is 20% compared to an industry standard of 13.6%

and i'm pretty sure thats after they pay the CEOs.

interesting you picked up on that i'm an elitest, i didn't really see the connection in my post, but i guess its obvious...

i dont want any name-calling or anger towards anyone in this thread. debate is about keeping calm and bringing up the facts, not mud-slinging. Opinions are opinions, even if you strongly disagree with them, you shouldnt be hostile towards the holder of the opinion.
