problems pinning
    #705510 -

I birthed my cakes into a a refridgerator (doesn't work) hooked up to a cool-mist over 2 weeks ago. The humidity fluxuates from 80-100 rh but the temp remains fairly high (82-90) even when putting an icepack in everyday. There are no signs of pinning and a bluish hue is beginning to spread over the Mycelium. I put the cakes into the freezer for about 2 hour before they were birthed in order to initiate pinning, could this have killed the cakes? The cakes feel very dry and seem to have shrunk a significant amount. My best guess is that this has to do with the temp. Can anyone suggest anything to get these suckers going? Is there something I can do next time to start pinning while still in the jar?

The blue on the cakes is most likely just bruises, especially if you were handling them. If your cakes ARE all dried up then chances are they wont pin.(right?)

cakes really need to be around 75 to pin...and the higher temps are causing your cakes to dry out...thats why they are turning blue. You dont need to put them in the freezer either...temps around 75 will get them to pin and they fruit well at that temp either. the only thing you can do now is dunk them and then keep them in the proper temp range...
