anyone here ride motorcycles? I just bought my first bike(Harley) last friday...*PIC*

On the 1st I bought a brand new 2007 Vivid Black Harley-Davidson XL883 Sportster. I had never riden a motorcylce untill I took it off the lot, just dirt bikes a few times in the past. I love the bike.....I've allready put over 1000 miles on it. Anyone else ride(especially a Harley)?

I went to a showroom the other day and drooled on a few choppers. I want one bad, but have only driven a dirtbike a few times when I was younger. I have this little fear I'll lay it over leaving the lot.

you should definitely go for it. i rode it around the parking lot at the dealer do circles for 2 miles learning the clutch and shifting and stuff. slow maneuvers are kind of tough but all you gotta do is put your feet down if you think you're going to drop it. everyone says though that you'll eventually drop the bike. I hope that day doesn't come for me.

883cc....it's the smallest bike they make. But I thought me being 5'6" 170lbs and this being my first bike I should go with that one. Plus it's the least expensive MC they make.

2002 Road King - Got it on eBay 10/4/05 with 9,302 miles.  I put over 5K into chrome and accessories.  My pride and joy. I've done about 8000 miles on it. :smile: :smile: :smile: :smile: :smile: Miles of smiles. :grin:

'88 Ducati Paso. Now my wife's bike. (this one's from google. sorry, no pics. ours has a custom seat and white rims) Only 500 blue ones were produced and 300 of them stayed in Italy so it's somewhat rare.


2007 Yamaha FZ-1. My bitch. Does something like Zero-80 in 4.2 seconds. Lets see your Ferrari do that.

I used to have a 77(maybe) Harley pan head engine that I built a complete custom bike around. I was an art major in college and it actually became my senior project. It had a suicide clutch and shift knob next to the gas tank. It was the most impossible thing in the world to ride.

TM,i've always wondered how you operate your right side foot controls. wanna elaborate on that? Or Do you just use all front brake? I imagine on that huge ass bike it would be doable.

Thats a mighty sweet ride. Beats a faggy jap-racer bike anyday. But the guy in the picture is still 200 lbs too thin and doesnt have anywear near the biker beard required :laugh:. Still kudos on the hog.

Good timing-- I take my safety course/certification starting tomorrow-- come monday I'll have my license!

And congrats on the new ride-- I'm leaning more towards a sportbike myself, but I love the Sportsters-- my family is Harley-heavy-- dad's been riding for 40 years!
