Metallers think they're hard!

I'm a fan of quite a lot of metal music, but I'm just sick of all the matal bands like Lamb of God, Pantera,Hatebreed e.t.c....

that sort of thing... they all act tough.. think they are well solid..

they're all just frontin'...and the majority of their fans are little nerds that wanna be hard too.

It's pathetic.

Always seemed really obvious to me that the harder a band tries to prove it is hard, the softer the members really are.

But then there is that fine line across which some people actually are crazy metal dudes, like Ozzy used to be before he was domesticated.

Iron Maiden. they don't give all that tough guy bullshit.
Tool are kind of metal and don't either,

In the wide wide world of music, they're all heavy metal. In the world of heavy metal, they're very different genres. It's relative.

Yep, metal fans can be quickly spotted by their hideous leg tattoos, usually consisting of flames, skulls, or even flames AND skulls.  :headbanger:

IM suck IMO. But you are right about Tool.


I am not a huge LoG fan but I like some of their songs. I don't notice them really "acting hard" other then screaming and sounding 'tough' in some songs I guess.

But if the lyrics are cool, then I don't mind that.

I don't look at pictures and go to fan sites etc, I just listen to the music.
And if it's hard just to be hard that can be kinda gay. But if they are singing about something with drive and conviction, that's cool.

Just my opinion.

I see what you mean, but to me those death metal bands are all about posturing -- looking tough, sounding tough. Isn't that a lot of the appeal?

I gave that example of Lamb of god cause I just heard a clip of the beggining of a song where it has a one of them saying something like

"He who gets the law on his fellow man is either a fool or a weakling,
he should be able to protect himself and if he uses the law for that he is certainly both. If injured by a man he should say "if i live i will kill you, if i die you are forgiven"


Some crap like that, I mean I'd like to see one the band members not get the police if someone raped his wife.

A lot of songs are sung from a character's perspective, not necessarily the singer's. Look at the lyrics from Polly by Nirvana. Kurt Cobain isn't pretending he's a rapist, he's telling a story.
