Re: Any of you guys have a "grid" system overlap your vision while tripping? [Re: yageman]

Like every part of the mind, the grids are flowing and subjective. Especially during a trip, they are subject to the influences of the creative mind like everything else, and swept up in the visual tricks that permeate the rest of the trip. So the grids can become anything.

No, no grid. No dancing bears or skeletons, or any Grateful Dead symbols.

I'll look for these next time.

yes I get grids and flames or flowers and the grids are often vines or blocks and sometimes flames or flowers. but they can be of any motif at all.

it starts as polyopia multiple or layered vision of the same thing with gaps. the persistence of it and clarity of it is astonishing and it covers and embraces what the opened eyes take in.

the grid and the motifs it is made of are responsive to what is happenning.

I believe that the regularity or wallpaper aspect of polyopia and grid are related to the holographic nature of the associative mind itself. Both raw sensation (input) and perceptive mentation (motif- abstraction) are spread accross the cortex in multiples and partials and interrelated fragments.

when we are on a good halucinogen, this natural process is sustained longer or fades more slowly, so we can see it - often glowingly - a residue, like new toys or candy world, and sometimes even like gold fillagree patterning on everything, as if annointed by the gods.

Does anyone else ever see this? Really bizarre.

I see this very strongly ALL the time EVERYEWHERE. It became a permanent part of my life a few years back, but its a blessing to see such a thing. Everything in life moves and works along this grid, the things we can and cannot see.

is this effect due to brain hemisphere dominance? The geometric energy grid I notice as well. Wish I could implement it into undosed operating mode. Possible? Probably... How to get feedback from conscious mind into brains physical workings is a mystery to me. One day Illl just turn into a cyborg of my own will. peace

at this point i think we can be relatively certain seperation exists as a fallacy of finite perception, and the only barrier to infinite creativity is a preimposed notion of certainty and artificial conditioning. nothing is without origin

hemisphere dominance is not much of an issue (on any level in spite of the huge myths about what the hemishperes do)
the localized brain activity has to with parts of the body that are used more, and memory associations that have accrued with those parts of the body.
right and left are cross wired to the brain.
perception and analysis can be anywhere, though it moves more forward the more abstract and volitional it gets.
but these visions that include grids relate a lot to crossover of what is going on and the persistence of the events.
when you are not stoned the persistence is very short.
and crossover does not amount to much.
what gets fed into crossover is
sensory input &
association &
rhythmic processing (cerebellum produces waevforms for associative processes to latch to)

storage granularity affects it too- memories are stored all over with a common "motif" (key) to recall them. the motif can be reproduced at various sizes and this, combined with some rhythms, can generate wallpaper visuals or 3-d grids or impossibly complex dimensional grids.

sometimes the motif is extremely simple, like a vine or pipe or even a jointed lifeform architectural vine unit.

usually it is just persistence over a period of time with altered focus of attention, the overlapped composite scenes will generate 3-d grid.

I've seen multiple fully illuminated and animated grids once. Not vague stuff, but actual grids of lights made up from colours as bright as LED's in a dark room. They were zooming towards me and their animation synchronised perfectly to the music.

That was from 1.75 grams of good Cubensis and a good bong hit - my first proper mushroom trip.

Depends.  SOrta a little?  When im coming up I usually see mythical creatures etched into things like clouds or walls etc.  They move around and do cool shit. The grid isn't really a sight for me so much though.  "the grid" is more of a feeling for me.  It will come up in what are akin to daydream images in my mind and I will feel them but they don't come into my normal vision for whatever reason.  With a high enough dose the grid seems very visual without being projected onto the actual world around me.  Its like my mind dreams it up like a dream or daydream and im in it with great detail on par with actual visuon however it is not in my actual vision?  Does that make any sense?

For me its more of a maze kinda thing.  I call it the mental labyrinth.  Its like there is a hole in the back of your mind.  It leads on a path into the laberinth which extends to infinity in some alternate dimensions.  Either imagined or perhaps some of the 7 other dimensions that most of us don't even know exist... who knows.  Weird bc it is as if my mind is in a different world than my body and I am simaltaneously experiencing both.

^^ Don't know about "everyone" - but SWIM has seen a grid (dome) on several occasions, open-eye, persistent until it fades away after several minutes, on DMT.  Golden-yellow.  Beautiful.

Only for LSD for me. My visual field is boxy and the superimposed boxes over my vision keep moving outward.

Interference waveform patterns in the visual cortex.  :mushroom2:

I frequently experience this on marijuana.

As far as I can tell, the interference pattern in the visual cortex would not produce a lattice dome!  Its like being on the inside of a globe that has lines of latitude and longitude, except it is only the "northern hemisphere" if you get my meaning.

weird, the only time I actually see the "grid" in my normal vision is when sober.  I can look at the night sky and see the "matrix" of information that encodes the universe so to speak.  Its probably an imaginary representation a posibility of existence that would look very different visually if it was actually visually perceptibale at all. Most likely not in any spectrum of electromagnetic radiation.  However,  if it was it one most likely be viewable in the radiowave spectrum somewhere in the background radiation from the big bang.

I think it's an artifact of the way your brain normally processes vision, enjoy the endless permutations it provides!

Nope... my vision becomes textured, like a pointillistic drawing and I begin to see blues and yellows emerge in the outlines of objects.

When I'm "full-out" my eyes are closed and I have been molecular at points (out-of-body).

It rocks!

I've had the "grid" system several times, but only from the effects of salvia. It was imposing itself upon me uncontrollably, and it seemed to be like a grid of my very mind--kinda like a city block(s), if that makes sense.
