Any of you guys have a "grid" system overlap your vision while tripping?

I swear, the last couple of times I've tripped, there is a period when it first kicks in real strong, that a system of lines, like a geometric grid, or maze, infiltrates and overlaps my vision.

I look at the sky and it is everywhere, as if the sky is divided and sliced by these energetic patterns. It's almost as if somebody drew over it with a pencil and a ruler, with straight lines intersecting each other and going in every direction imaginable.

Does anyone else ever see this? Really bizarre.

u actualy live in an overlaping grid system

I get them while I'm high. The darker the room is, the flatter the surface, and the higher I am the more pronounced they appear. I've learned to even see them faintly while sober but, interestingly enough they disappear entirely when I trip. Go figure.

Eh the "strings" are 10−35 m wide. I highly doubt even if 1,000,000,000 of them were plumped together you still could not see them.

I think visuals are a grand metaphore for how your brain is working while on psychedelics.
If you cant see the grids or how they fall into miles worth of archetecture, then that really does suck for you in a way.
I saw them on my first dose when I was a kid.

They do mean something.

I mean, even your visual palete strives for complex order and to see all the associations one can make all at once.

I know that the complexity of visuals is divine to some people.

SOme would consider it to simply be "static" in the brain.
I guess they are in some ways very correct. It has alot to do with the structures we use to move or minds.
The blueprints for the endless possiblitities when it comes to cognition.
I like to explain the fusion between visuals and cognition as a doorway to certain machines.
They are for the most part not learned anywhere but within ones self, yet the most common ones we experience everyday.
They are all woven together though, and thats why we can use them given that we only understand so much at any given point in our life.

They build upon each other.

This is just a theory in short hand:
If you are becoming immune to psychedelics, You dont "get off", you need to let something else take over your mind for a while.
I say this because you are becoming immune, and certainly are not building upon anything serious.

For those who have a more organized and respectful approach....
Well those people do quite well.
You cant seperate visuals from cognition.
If you want to know why I feel that this is true, just look up "lizard brain" in the search engine.

Some peoples brains are not as fused together as they would like, because otherwise they would see visuals all the time, every time.

Your average person can see these complex 3-d grids most if not all the time if the dose is right.
If you have EVER not seen visuals on 3.5 grams+ then you are a bit unique.
You brain certainly does not see the complexity, so gather from that fact what you will.

The only reason we see them is because they are very real.
Some people see the wavelength more easily than others, and most people see visuals every damn time.
That doesnt make these people better or worse, but instead just makes them common.

If you cant see visuals you are definately a bit different and you can bet your ass it doesnt only have to do with visuals.
You cant seperate visuals from cognition.

Its no wonder so many people can say their 3.5 gram trip was "boring", and they had "little or no visuals".
Thats because you cant seperate brain functions.
One almost mimics the other.

Your visuals are a direct connect to how you use these drugs cognitively.

Just some info.
I hardly would call this a theory. Id call this stuff "fact" for the most part.

Oh for sure...on acid mostly for me. The environment becomes covered in little dancing dudes with dreads almost but they look like there made of neon lights....anyone else get this....they all fit together like a pattern. Its odd

Thats definately one way to explain it.


First time I used psychedelics it was two hits of good lsd.
It was smooth and intense through and through.

I remember in the nightime, looking at the tree-filled skyline/sky and thinking, "wow, this was the most alien thing I have ever seen".
The trees became tendrils of magic.
I could see their form and it felt tropical, and exotic...and I live in IL......

I felt like I had stepped into the end of the movie "contact" in a variety of ways. Mostly, that had to do with the way the skyline/trees looked and how I could play with the colors of the sky/stars with my hand.

That, and I felt that I had grown an *extra brain which was small but very intricate, as that small growth has since grown and become a part of me.

It may have enveloped my entire brain by now..........lol

The grids can be composed of virtually anything. Mine are usually pretty organic, like vines, eyes, skulls. Certain aspects of Alex Grey's art are very strikingly similar, namely the eyes. Sometimes it's just random designs.

It's very interesting that our unconscious mind would impose grids upon our world. Perhaps those grids are always there, hidden from view and used only by those parts of the mind manifested by psychedelics.

I think the unconscious mind probably "draws up calculations," so to speak, on balance and muscle coordination using these grids. Taking psychedelics allows us to see them consciously.

I could be wrong, but it's an interesting idea, huh?

The more you zone out the weirder they get. At times its crazy geometrical crawling hallucinations and sometimes its bright 3 d flowers flowing around...

Ive had times were i smoke a bowl 4-5 hours into a tab or 2 of acid and the hallucinations just fly like, so much imagery when you fade away its hard to know whats going on.

Like any other part of the hallucinogenic experience, you cannot seperate one part from the whole.

SO, some people might see skulls............

It makes those same calculations.

Cool idea, but I think it is just a part of the fact .

Its all about the orientation of the nervous system.

You cant seperate one from the other.
They are fused.

Ever have the day after become an explosion of things to take care of in the most smooth and intricate way.

You cant have one part without the other.
You become a machine that gets shit done quickly for your own benefit. Calculating every move.
Getting the paperwork done while you make your coffee/breakfast.
Clean the home while you feed your dog. Fill your soul with something that is bloated and full, and you get output/enjoyment that you previously couldnt have imagined.

You brain is fused in a tapestry of undefinable capabilities.
All abilities are connected.

This is true.

The people studying the brain who are most prized are talking about this same shit to some degree.
Its connectedness and holography.

Good luck reading this weirdness.
I think it was a good decision to post it.
