If you're using a tek similar to the Shroom Wizard's, the use saran wrap. Before putting the saran wrap over it, spray the top layer of soil really well, until at field capacity. Put the plastic over it and leave it alone for about a week and a half. When you see mycelium growing through the soil, take the saran wrap off and spray it once more. Then just wait for pinning. With casing, you don't need to use a terrarium. You should take another look at the tek you're using, you don't seem to understand it.

Do you mean that, when casing, you don't need to use a terrarium *if you're willing to mist a couple time a day* ? (I'm not being a smartass... I'm truly wondering.)

Sorry if I confused anyone with what I said. Also, I didn't mean to snap at you like that. The Shroom Wizard's tek (the one I use) says to spray the soil at least once a day to keep the soil moist. With the Shroom Wizard's tek, you don't need a terrarium, that's the great part about it. Take a good look at this tek, it's great.Shroom Wizard's Tek. I recommend this tek to just about anyone, experienced or beginning. You can easily go bulk just by increasing the size of your trays.

Thanks, H-XT. I'm going to case a couple cakes tomorrow using ShroomWizard's tek... I think I can handle spraying twice a day :smile:

Do you need a drip shield of some sort, or just use the finest mist setting on your bottle?

yea, but if you don't put the casing into a terrarium, then how do you keep the shrroms growing without the right humidity?
