Yes, because it's an easy major to be accepted into.

Everyone seems to be majoring in the same things these days. Psychology, buisness, and nursing (for women of course, as well as psychology).

hahhaha I love the description of that guy, who knows, maybe he is happy, once upon a time me gf was pretty much a goth chick

anyways yes, I know alot of people who switch to psych, from computer science, from many things, that or english, many thing it will help them solve their own problems, or be easy, it can be useful for many fields anyways, school counselors, counselors of any type, lots of public health/help positions, and then the more advanced stuff

thats' good, some people in psychology and in general go into fields to help people when they can't even help themselves, some people in general , in whatever field, can help others just by being good genuine people and having a good solid outlook on life or an understanding of things,

anyways, my 2 cents on this...

It doesnt take a scholar to help a fellow human being who happens to share the same basic general emotions as you and everyone else on this planet. We are all emotional beings, therefore we can relate to eachother on that simple premise. This is parallel to the idea presented by the Dalai Lama.

Because its easy and relatively interesting.  I have a psych friend and he says that most people in psychology major are absolutely retarded.  This means the bar is set very low, so you are sure to succeed!!!

If you have no idea what you are doing and want to choose a major that will expand your mind and set the bar a bit higher, choose philosophy.

im a psych major, i couldn't say if its any easier/harder than other majors. but there is a lot of research/statistics involved so its not all the how your head works stuff. its very interesting, i would like to go to grad school and become a clinical psychologist, but thats a lot of debt i'd have to get into and then theres no guarantee ill actually make it through the 2-3 years of grad school, the 1-2 years of post-doc work, and getting licensed ins't the easiest thing in the world either.

i dont know what ill do with my degree, but i do know i wont sit in an office somewhere. i cant be happy reporting to a job like that. i think the only two hopes for me are professional musician (long shot) or being a damn good bartender in a nice area of town.

i suppose i could minor in business management to have something to fall back on if i ever needed it.

It seems to me that Poli Sci is the new major for people that don't know what they're going to do. Alot of people say they want to be lawyers with this degree, but to be honest most law schools shy away from poli sci majors because there are so many of them.

I'm a marketing major with a minor in advertising.

I couldn't pick a major when I was in college.  Just had mine listed as 'General Ed'.  If 'Partying' had been an option it would've suited me well.  Of course, maybe these are the reasons I only went to one year of college!

so you are a psych major to be a musician or bartender? unique approach, hell bartenders end up being like psychologist, psychiatrist because they prescribe alcohol!
