Re: need good liquied mylium info/tek

Right now I have a couple of jars incubating using honey and distilled water. It doesn't take much honey at all, just about a teaspoon (or less) per 1/2 pint jar. What I did is pour about 2/3 cup of distilled water in a mixing bowl, and added about 1-2 teaspoons of honey, just to make sure I had enough . From what people tell me, you don't really need that much, but I was very careful, so I'm not worried about the increased contam risk.
I hope this helped, good luck.

ps. I'm experimenting with molasses, but it shows absolutely no signs of growth, i can still see the spore flakes. :frown:

bout 200 ml water and 1/2 tsp honey (any brand)sterolize, then 1 cc from spore syringe. and shake 2 times per day for 7-10 days. store in fridge for months. use as needed! After 2nd day you should see a milky cast to mixture. Lots of luck.PS don't worry bout bubbles!..leggy. This is from an earlier post and works!

And then what do you do with the mycelium liquid?

And what is its advantage over spore syringe injection?

If it's just faster from the point of innoculation of substrate to full colonization, then how does this work out time-wise when you take into account that it took 1.5 weeks to get the mycelium liquid going in the first place?

I'm interested in doing this, but I guess I just don't understand the advantage, yet.

Not only does it allow your spores to go a hell of a lot further, it innoculates the cakes much faster. So lets say you spend the '1.5 weeks' growing the l.m. sure you could have had around 12 cakes on there way, but now you got a shitload of turbo-charged innoculant... and more innoculant than you started out with.

Yo, vivid- you gotta problem with me using decimals instead of fractions?! I'm .5 kidding, .5 serious.

And that's all I needed to hear. Guess I'll start my liquid mycelium asap. Thanks for the info!

By the way, once the mycelium liquid is established, you just pull some into a syringe like you would spore solution and innoculate accordingly, or what?

Good luck with your l.m.

Vivid

In responce to your question.. as far as I know, once its colonized teh liquid, you just suck it up, like you said... But this is my first run at it too.. so maybe we need an expert?
