Mycorrhizal mushrooms question
    #6900278 -

Hola

Does anybody know if a mycorrhizal mushroom can be a sclerotia producer too?

Gracies.

Hi,
Truffles are mycorrhizal, I'm not sure wether they are considered to be sclerotia though?

I think truffles are the fruitbody with the capacity of producing spores while sclerotia give rise to fruitbodies and don´t produce spores as far as I know...

Morels, although some will argue that they're not mycorrhizal. Most mycologists agree they are.

So, morels are mushrooms that are mycorrhizal and produce sclerotia too?
Anyway, how about those pics of the patents where morels are fruited in trays with a casing layer indoors? Can they fruit just from sclerotia if necessary if there is no host plant nearby?

Thanks for the response and how did you know I was talking about morels?
