You probably want to know how to cultivate Polyporus tuberaster. I heard somewhere that you have a culture. I haven't found much info about it, but I think that casing or burying sclerotia in soil should work at least that's how they grow morels.

Bury the sclerotia in sandy or loamy material....raise the humidty....sit back and patiently wait to see if they fruit.

Yes, sorry for not clarifying. I now what board it is. I was talking about the species in GGMM (can't remeber the name), as well as polyporous tuberaster. Cool I will give it a try. I was thinking that vermiculite might be best. Has anyone ever done this?

I'd give verm a try....it's probably easier to work with than loam or sand...never tried it, though
Please do report back on how you get on! There's not too much info out there on hobbyist cultivation of sclerotia producers!

Many members of the Oregon truffle society have had excellent luck in establishing new truffle beds by blending the sclerotia in sterile water and spraying it into deep mulch at the base of fir and mixed hardwoods.I would guess that an interior cutting would clone on agar or perhaps even honey water to provide a starter culture. Good Luck, WR
