now blow that up for the big picture. And fix education.
Ideas??

Fixing educations is a process that will take time to evolve. Ideas?
The first step always begins with making a change in us. We must help ourselves become aware, share that with those who are close to us, growing our children in being preceptive... I really believe that these things are stuff we can all do and that relate to one's common sense
Now... I get the feeling that you're talking about more, like an official and universal change in education. That raises new issues that are linked to law, politics, investments and so many other things.

For me, trying has to do with dishonest intent (in the farthest sense).
Yes, maybe definitions.

Then in this case, yes, it's definitely definitions.
Fucking labels

And in a zoned-out sense (of 'try'): If a coyote is dancing through and around the feet of a person, he only may do that because he will imitate the notion of him 'trying' to perform something, but in reality, he will only want to let the perceiver still look as if he would have a chance to prevent what the coyote already is doing
[sorry couldn't resist]
And yes, this still is really strongly related to the topic ()

thanks for stating the obvious.

If it were so obvious, then I wouldn't have stated it. I didn't mention that fire burns in this thread.

The idea of generations is to ROUGHLY DEFINE something.

Yeah, except the notion of a generation defines absolutely nothing.

Quote:
The generation time line just attempts to illustrate the differences in the mentality due to the world an age defined population grows up in, in case you missed that.

Yes, it attempts to, yet inevitably fails. What date does the "Y generation" start and stop? What world events influence this and distinguish the difference amongst generations? Doesn't the world change in every moment? Shouldn't there be a distinct generation for the people born in every month? How does the variance in the environment in which groups of people are born effect their mentality, and subsequently their place in this "generation"? :smirk:

Sorry, but the notion that these assigned "generations" convey any actual truth regarding the individual characteristics of the people that suspossedly comprise it is bunk, and that is truth. Employing the term "Y generation" has conveyed absolutely no meaning or substance. :sorry:

I think there exist typical generations, at least here in germany.
They were formed by the stream of time, which formed their parents, or the generation between them and their parents, often regarded as 'older brother' generation or often seen as idols too.
For example, here in germany in the 50's and 60's the economic situation betters, so that it allready was spoken of an 'golden age'. There, many people became consumers and materialists. This influenced the younger ones to start a career, called 'Yuppie'. The more younger ones got affronted by this and many turned to 'generation not buggered'
I came after and my generation is called X-generation, because they were not pointable by marketing (thank g*d !)
After me, I think there is the fantasy-generation, or something

So, X-generation greets Y-generation !
