building a car cd collection

so after realizing that i'm not going to be able to buy an ipod before the summer, i went to best buy to check out blank cd prices and found spindles of 50 for $5. bought one, halfway through it, going to buy maybe 2 more next week. mostly downloading 80s GD, late 80s and 94-98 Phish, 03-current sts9, dub mixes (dubhead mostly from themixingbowl.org thanks lacy!!!), some russo/duo stuff from the past 2 summers, some mm[s]w shows, and some random bluegrass (leftover salmon, yonder, railroad earth, etc). can anybody recommend any other artists or specific shows that i can find on tradersden or bt.etree.org?

Random Bluegrass: Check out Iron Horse if you havent already. Also real bluegrass is good like Bill Monroe.

iron horse put together that pickin on modest mouse cd, didn't they?

also if any big cheese heads can recommend 3 or 4 great sci shows (i'm much more of a fan of the Nershi-controlled jamgrassy stuff than their newer trancey stuff) i'd appreciate it. only ever seen them like 5 times, so dont really know their music nor what to look out for in a download

i'll finally give panic a proper listening to. seen them thrice, never once really paying much attention, but i've heard rave reviws since thy've been playing w. jimmy. any specific recommendations for recent shows with him to check out?

i wasn't there (haven't been to bonnaroo since 03) but already burned it :smile: the mike's song with nobody singing but the crowd singing so loud it doesn't matter is sick.

trent - i got a spool of 50 blanks for $5 at best buy on saturday. i figure buy 2 more of those, 150 discs is plenty for the car and that won't quite cost $20. :thumbup:

-Almost Acoustic Band
-Special Ed & the Shortbus (so funny)
-Donna the Buffalo (hybrid bluegrass but good)
-HOT BUTTERED RUM
archive.org is pretty good to find these guys as they're known for live performances...

You should invest ~$70 and get an mp3 player in your car. That's what I did and it's great. 700mb of mp3s instead of 80minutes of music.

9-28-2002 is one of my fav MMW shows....I got it off of etree not too long ago
