I have used wheat berries with success. Soak over night for 24 hours, drain all excess water, then rinse again to remove any starch that'll slow myceium, and drain well again. Then load into jars (preferably outfitted with hepa filters) and pressure cook at 15 p.s.i for no less than 1 hour no more than 2. Shake kernals after cookng/before completely cool.

Good luck!

well there are to ways for wheat berries depending on your style or amount of time. If you boil them to the right texture then pressure cook they will be fine. Provided texture is right and moisture is perfect chewy on the inside not wet. This is for those in a hurry but letting them sit for a day will get rid of those 1 or 2 contamed jars out of 20. Letting the grain soak for a night and draining is another method (prefered method for rye, actually only that seems to work). This is for those that have time. Only draw back on wheat is it doesnt colonize as fast as rye(about 4 days slower, plus a little lower nutriton, but for a first time grain user I would recomend wheat but that is only because of first timer rye failures).

what kind of berries? Fire ants noticed that soft pastry seems to provide the best flushs then hard spring then red winter. This has nothing to do with brokn kernals just that it seems to yield more. This was all done with clones and a control group of rye. Control did the best, and soft pastry etc.
