Most emo I've heard they're screaming, like Rites of Spring or Desaparecidos, although that's about all the emo I've heard.

Desaparecidos is another band Conor Oberst was in, it's emo, unlike Bright Eyes which is really just folk.


I remember my days in high school when emo started becoming big in the late 90s ,early 2000 and the majority would yes , scream and whine mostly about their break ups. Which brings to the "Emotional" Genre.

I always want to go up to an emo and just ask them why. Ive only done this once and they didnt speak to me.

it's really too bad that a genre ("emo") that started off with a really fucking great band (cap n jazz) has turned to completly cookie-cutter formalized commercial crap.

same thing with "indie rock" that was propelled by amazing musicians (PAVEMENT!!!!!!1) turned into Death Cab for Cutie
