Different Vermiculite

This is odd. I bought 2 bags of vermiculite. Not at the same place though. But they are from the same company and they are the same exact kind. So I ran out of one and opened the other. The only problems was that the pieces were ALOT bigger in the secound bag. And they didnt seem appropriate for casing.
Since I wasnt sure so I used a sifting thingy and removed all of the bigger pieces.
But I used the vermiculite with bigger pieces for a bottom casing layer and the finer stuff I sifted for the top layer. Hope that helps.
Has anyone had different sizes of vermiculite? If so which sizes worked better and for what uses?

Verm usually comes in four different grades -coarse, medium, fine and super fine. You use the one that is best for your particular need. I've only used the fine so far, so I can't say which is better.

Cool....i guess maybe its good I used the fine stuff i sifted for the top. I took pictures so ill post the pictures of different layers then.
