well..im just wondering what everyone is using...cause i orded this vermiculite, that is really fine...and it make the BRF cakes ive made so far, very dense...maybe too dense..but im not sure yet...some of my cakes have slowed down,..and im wondering if this is why...BUT i originally bought this low grade vermiculite that had rocks and shit like that in it...so for kicks..i ended up using it on some cakes...on one cake i kind of strained the rocks in it and it colonized first..way before any other cakes...so im just wondering what everyone is using,... maybe bigger vermiculite with the rocks taken out is the way to go,, let me know guys..thanks a lot again!!!i love this web site...it rocks...

PS i just cased my first half pint of fat stem,..ill keep yah up on that!

Yeah My first run was with FINE verm and It took forever. Every other aspect of the the grow was to the T. So i figured it was mainly because of the DENSENESS of the FINE verm. Gonna try and use coarse verm for the next batch think the better air exchange will do the Trick. Hope this helps. GL.

for brf/verm cakes my foaf likes to use coarse verm for colonisation and finer verm for the top dry layer.
