what interesting plants to buy in a UK garden centre...natural highs?

anyone got a definitive list on UK products easily bought at the garden centre in the UK..
lets get the UK growers this list...and we can get growing the gardens we all need

I'm sure if you did some research you could stop asking for lists. Take the first list you had made and go look in some places and on line.

If you see something you like on the list put it in to google and look for a place in the UK that sells it. Each garden center is different so you will just have to go in to the one nearest you and have a look. If you have a greenhouse then hight should be your only problem.
Take the time to do some research on what you can get and will grow in your part of the UK and it will help you to look after them later.

1 Are you north or south england this will effect what you can grow.
2 Do you have your own garden/ how much space do you have to use
3 Do you have a greenhouse with heating/ will you start inside
4 Is this your first year growing anything/ do you just want easy stuff.
5 How much do you have to spend/can you buy online

If you want to PM me for some help I would be happy to give you a hand. I'm sure you can find datura, papaver and a ton of others if you take your time.

Peganum harmala seeds should be pretty easy to find in any garden center(at least it is here)...

Some poppies are a must have...

This will answer all. It should be in your local library. I think it goes by area and by plants so its a good book for all the UKers out there. If you have a greenhouse set up there shouldn't be much you cant grow.

If you have a pond or a kids paddling pool I would get Acorus calamus.
others that should be in most garden centers are. . .
Cytisus scoparius but just for looks can be smoked after prep
Cornus stolonifera smoked by plains Indians
Eschscholiza californica has protopine in
Hypericum perforatum  st Johns wort
Nepeta cataria catnip is considered active in humans
valeriana officinalis good for sleep
Nicotiana sp smoke snuff chew go for N. tabacum if you can find it but in garden centers it will more likely be Nicotiana sylvestris or Nicotiana rustica if you can buy online there is here http://www.coffinails.com/index.html


Check out the above book agains the first list that should be of more help.
