Friend driving because...

What would you think if someone let a friend drive his car and he ended up denting it when pulling into the driveway alongside another car thats not registered or thought of?

Screw the dent and say never again will you drive and play it off as something you weren't aware of the dent and someone must've hit it without saying so and left. Or is there a way to actually get something out of this besides having your friend pay some guy to remove the dent unprofessionally?
