UFC 69: My Thoughts / Final Dse Show: Pride 34

kendall grove is a really improved up and coming fighter...he more than impressed me with his submission win. this guy is young and a threat to anyone in the divisionm,

okami is another badass addition to the 185 class. i love to see successful japanese fighters. i wonder if they will transfer him over to pride?? he had a pretty impressive outting. swick gave him a little trouble, but it was a solid win.

josh koscheck exposed diego's lack of striking ability. he did this with one of the worst, most boring fights ive seen. kos fought like sissy tim sylvia... kos is a piece of dogshit, he has the worst personality in all of MMA. his striking sucked too, just not as bad as diego...any striker with chops would have KOed kos, the way he was holding his hands so low..... leben even wuold have rocked him if he played like that. i wanna see koscheck lose in the worst way possible. there arent many guys who could deliver him a beating though. i think id like to see him fight Karo next.

GSP losing is almost unexplainable...i dont get it... it wasnt supposed to go down like that. matt serra is a midget, but that little fucker has ROCKS for hands. anyone who can stagger GSP like that has crazy power. serra is also one of the best BJJ artists in all of MMA. who knows maybe he found the right formula to be a champ?? i dont think serra can beat koscheck or hughes though.

im a sad GSP fan tonight :frown:



oh well ive got a 4pack of redbull and ready to watch the last DSE pride show
its on at 2:30am to 8am EST ....some good fights on the card...good weekend to be an MMA fan

I disagree with most of what you said, but I suppose each person looks at a fight differently.

Lame that you can win a championship by closing your eyes and throwing haymakers.

serra outboxed him almost right away from the begining...gsp should have been throwing more kicks, those are his bread and butter

Outboxed him? He hit him with a badly thrown hay-maker in the BACK OF THE HEAD. Then threw at least 20 punches while St. Pierre was falling all over himself and landed maybe 4-5. He was swinging wildly and connected a few times, and unfortunately it worked.

the first punch hit gsp in the neck...it staggered him

serra was throwing a flurry of punches, just like a ton of other fighters do when they go off like that

serra outstruck GSP...his hands looked good...they even commented on his hands before the big punch

plus serra has rocks for fists...he throws midget bombs

unfortunately my boy GSP was outclassed for whatever reason....i think GSP needs to stop training like he does all seperate. he needs to get in with a good MMA gym and move out of montreal. there arent any gyms in the city...i think he needs a change in trainers to continue his progression. i have no doubt he'll be back

Looked like he faked a left jab it's a weird angle they show but thats what it looks like to me.Also makes more sense because GSP walked right into it.Great Angles by serra.

Oh yeah did you guys see Matt Hughes cheering for GSP loosing?

I just watched this fight over again 4 times. Serra intently threw a legit blow at St Pierre and St Pierre turned and caught it to the back/side of his head. Thats definitely not illegal. He should have been defending himself better. Like Hughes should have been doing when GSP threw those 2 inside upper thigh kicks that caught Hughes in the nuts. This shit happens all the time in fights. In my eyes this is a legit victory and Serra fully deserves the title. GSP seriously underestimated Serra's ability to strike with him and he paid dearly for it. He got schooled. :lol:

No I'm fully aware the punch to the back of the head was an accident and not illegal, it's just a shame he caught it like that because it seemed to be the one that disoriented the hell out of him.


This Pride show is entertaining but my Fantasy picks have been going shitty so far.

this is why MMA is the most exciting sport on the planet

sooo unpredictable, the upsets are crazy

its sooo exciting, i cant even watch any other sports anymore


im going to miss pride in the ring...dana is putting them in a cage

pride fights are soo much more action packed i think directly because of the ring. octagon is too big and its easy to run, circle your opponent (see; kos vs diego, crocop vs sanchez).

also going to miss the 10min first rounds, these are sooo much better for MMA

oh and im going to miss the soccer kicks, stomps and knees to head of downed opponent..


UFC needs to get fucking knees to the head of a downed opponent legalized by NSAC!!! this stops cheap wrestlers and their Lay N Pray

without the knees, grapplers have an unfair advantage...they can shoot without any worry, grab onto your waist and pull without worrying about their head exposed...gay
