Help with a "medicinal" fast

Hello,
Without going into a long diatribe, I need to fast. I have a plethora of food allergies and I need to cleanse my body. I recently had a check up and all my levels are fine. I would like to try fasting to cleanse these toxins (food allergies) out of my body. I have done some internet research, but a lot of it seem religious, and not at all medically sound. i asked my Doc he said fasting makes you lose water weight. i told him I was doing it not to lose weight, but to get the crap out of my blood stream. he didnt seem to know much about it.
So my question here is: Do anyone of you fast to "reboot" and can you put me onto any info that I could read as I prepare for this. I am 99% this is the way to go for me - but I cant just do somethng so radical and expect my body not to react. I dotn want to faint at work or stop my heart (two things I read online) Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to add - I have both food allergies and food intolerance - I know I have to abstain from these toxins, but it is impossible to keep all of these things out of my body - many times things I am allegric to are put into other foods - Be that as it may - I have also been smoking a lot and eating a lot of meat and stuff that i know is caking my intestines & just want to detox in general - TY

"The pH Miracle" is one of the books on health restoration which I am currently working with successfully.

Rather than focusing on a quick fix of doing a fast, the author sets forth a gradual transition (which can be done immediately in the case of severe health problems), 7-day cleansing juice fast, 5-7 week alkaline-only diet, followed by a lifelong maintenance program of 80% alkaline foods and 20% acid foods.

It's well worth a read, and you may decide to try it. My results thus far (2 months transition phase, with daily herbal cleansing supplements and weekend juice fasts) have been amazing.

This diet removes all potentially allergenic foods, so you would probably notice immediate improvement in your allergies.

there are plenty of detox herbs that clean your blood just search for detox herbs
