h2o2 water substitute and sterilizer?!

i read somwhere that when h2o2 touchs the mycelium it dicomposes into water (h2o).

well, then cant u use h2o2 instead of water and thus sterilizing without PCing. sounds like a good idea but i guess if it would work i wont be the one thinking about it 1st...

after just mixing the substrate (lets say brf/verm) with h2o2 just putting grounded stems dipped in h2o2 mixing it all together and put in jars (rinsed with h2o2).

isnt h2o2 aggresive enough to replase PC?
is there a substitute to PC sterilizing ?(a chemical one)

no I dont think that would work....

also there is really no alternative to a PC besides steaming/boiling yer jars and ya can only fo that with BRF with some limited success, you still may experience contams.

Pressure cookers are cheap 23.99 at www.goodmans.com

if ya cant afford that then as I tell everyone you shouldnt be playing with this hobby, because to do it right there is a definate financial obligation, every step of the way something else costs money. your gonna have to have an air pump and air stone or some way of humidifiying... that costs money. Ya need a incubator and a heater or a really warm spot, your gonna need VERM, BRF, etc... it all costs money.. do yourself the favor before spending all the money, spend the best money you can and get a PC...

i have a pc, verm, perlite, syrnges, terranium, jars (actualy drinkning glasses), tinfoil, and a growing love to this new hobby.

i dont quite see the crutial need for an incubator, its hot where i live and everything is working great.

im just tring to make things easier and simplier and this idea just looked a legit thought.

H2O2 wouldn't really be a water replacement, but you can use H2O2 to treat some types of substrate and agar plates. Low concentration H2O2 will not affect mycelium in any way.

H2O2 doesn't decompose on *contact* with mycelium...but H2O2 *is* metabolized by mycelium into harmless chemicals. (Water and oxygen).

But why not grab a pressure cooker?
