To those who've used Hippie's Bleach tek

On Saturday I noticed terrible green contamination on my one casing that hadn't fruited yet. So rather than just throwing it out I tried the Bleach Tek (1 part bleach, 2 parts vinegar with 100 parts water). Monday morning the green was mostly gone though some green remained. I'm going to continue using the bleach solution until everything is gone and maybe even replace my current water with H202 solution with it.
The actual point is that the casing I treated with the bleach has started pinning quite heavily while the untreated ones have not. Is it because of the bleach? It wouldn't make sense to me that it could be because of the contams.
Has anyone else had this happen?
Thank you.

Its because of the water, not the bleach.
Your other casings are prolly a bit too dry. Try misting them a little more but never overwater a casing. Just keep it nice and moist.

I was reading over on mycotopia on a post that Fanaticus made about the bleach tek.... http://www.mycotopia.net/discus/messages/2/10278.html?1023728042 Now its all still experimental but what he is saying is that using the bleach may not destroy all contams but that the sodium hypoclorite may stimulate fruiting...

I used the Bleach Dunk TEK on a newly colonized Peurto Rican jar and I used the Milk Dunk TEK it was a multi spore innoculation so that may alter the results a bit but the Bleach Dunked cake is far outperforming the Milk Dunked one
the Milk one is on the left and the Bleach one is.. well if you can't figure it out you have bigger problems than having to dunk cakes

awesome. we are currently hard at work over at mycotopia trying to sort out this very issue, as some one mentioned. but it does seem increasingly likely that the bleach dip not only kills contams but may in some unknown manner actually stimulate better fruiting. more research still needs to be done, but so far it looks real good. thx for sharing this info, now if only the people at forestfloor would allow info on the bleach tek to be posted there instead of surpressing it, then we could all share .

The bleach I used was the Tesco brand name bleach, the only kind I could find.
My casing is looking better by the day. The mycelium is turning white bright and is looking very healthy. I'll see how the pins turn out. I guess it still early days, but I think Hippie has discovered a wonderful technique.

it must contain sodium hypochorite.

i got this in a PM, i hope it's ok to repost it here. ============================================= From: SlamDog_C Re: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Forum2&Number=670935&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#Post671978
On the cake I dunked in milk I got 3.2 grams dried. Out of the Bleach dunked one I got 6.2 grams. Not stellar but way more than I usually get from each cake per flush. I'm looking into the possibility that it may have been the relatively small amount of salt produced by the decomposition of the bleach that possibly could have triggered the increased fruit size.
What I was thinking is... ( and feel free to ridicule me if you know this is wrong) What if the mycellium network comes into contact with the salt and as a defense mechanism to dying off (As high sodium levels will kill off mycellium and many other organisms ie. Pot Plants) puts all it's energy into fruiting much the way you can induce pinning by cold shocking the cakes and fooling them into beleiving their growing season is coming to and end thus making the survival instinct to produce spores kick in. I am trying out a low level salt dunk to see if the same results are evident. I'll msg you with the results. TTYL -SlamDog_C

i have blasted a contaminated casing area with salt, then misted the salt with h2o2. this (for me) only seems to stop the growth of the "mean green"
