What is the best ways to dry shrooms?

do a search on previous page, the page that lists the different threads, in the bottom right hand corner, keyword "dry" or "drying"

well why didn't you say so, i am fairly new but i will give it a try

you could use dessicant, but if you don't have a fan then you probably don't have dessicant.
i have heard of people putting thier shrooms in the oven on the lowest possible setting, but that is very dangerous, i think the magic breaks down in the 90 degress fahrenhiet range. so don't do that until you can get further opinions.

i really don't know what to tell you, go buy a cheap-ass fan is probably your best option.

I say your best bet is dessicant. Don't get any fancy stuff either. I've used alot, including stuff from fisher and Sigma lab supply and the best one so far is the regular "damp-rid" you'll find at your supermarket in the cleaning area next to mops, mothballs and the like. You'll need to make a chamber, but that's easy enough to do with some wire mesh and a little creativity

Ohh one more thing.... I've never looked into it ( because I thought it might be too expensive) but I think the very best method to dry anything would be freeze drying. Alot of the guys that do research on cubensis use dessicant drying, then make sure all the water is out by freeze drying. I just assumed it took some expensive do-hicky so I never bothered..... anyone now about freeze drying?

dessicant is only good when you pre-dry shroomies in front of a fan...or else the dessicant gets way too wet...I think silica gel acutally holds in the moisture better...you can find this stuff as cat litter...look of the crystal cat litter crap...but even better;

dry using a 60W lighbulb shining down onto a black sweatshirt....make sure the temperatures dont exceep 85 degrees and you will have no potency loss
