I have a dehydrator but I went into my local hardware store yesterday after all this reading and bought a box fan and the guy was nice enough to cut a piece of very fine wire mesh and attach it to my fan... i m in good shape now.. i just told him i hunted gin seng which i do and i was going to use it to dry it.

Cheap drying unit. i have a $15 walmart 3 (2 1/2" high each) drawer unit. its about 14" deep by 12" wide roughly.
in the top, a hole is cut, and a 8" fan is stuck in
each of the plastic shelves have about 50 holes (3/8") drilled in them, and air passes through all the shelves, right to the bottom from teh fan.
the bottom is open too btw.

K, I built that drying chamber with the tupperware and Dessicent, and I was gettin so many shrooms that it was getting too crowded....so I needed an emergency drying chamber...I just put my laundry basket (has holes ) over my heppa filter blowing upward...put some wire mesh under the shrooms so that they didnt fall thru the big laundry basket holes...put a big plastic bowl over the mushrooms and now theres a big swirl of dry cold air happening inder that bowl.....hope it works
