two questions: smell, and tin foil

Hi I love this site, everyone is very helpful :-) I have two questions: 1) I have heard that growing shrooms indoors makes for quite the stink. Like manure. I know that dried ones have a peculiar smell but it's not very strong. Is it stronger with fresh ones? If so, what can be done about the stink? 2) When boil-sterilizing, I read that one should crumple tin foil around the jar so that water doesn't go into the lid holes. But if you crumple it, how will steam escape to prevent shattered jars? Thanks a lot :-)

1-theres is really no stink maybe if you were growing huge amounts it might smell a but mushroomy in the room your growing but thats not a problem

2- you dont cover the entire jar you just cover the tops and everything works fine

1) no significant odor
2) Even if you covered the whole jar with heavy duty tin foil the jars would not break, not even if you used a whole roll.
