I'm writing a paper for my language class arguing that experiencing psychedelic drugs changes artist's styles permanently. It doesn't have to be anything major, but any lasting change caused by experiencing those drugs. If you want to explain why or why not your style changed go for it.

Tricky
It has the potential to, if an artist sees what he or she has done while under the influence, likes it, and decides to further employ
Permenantly in general, I think not

I never had any good ideas on what to draw. The skill was there but I could never decide what to draw or put any symbolism into anything. Then I took psychedelic drugs...mostly mushrooms. This changed my style forever and now I have so many ideas I can't even draw all of them because there's just not enough time in a day. I totally agree with you on drugs changing people's art styles. Especially art, because psychedelic drugs change everything about someone. Why wouldn't their art be dramatically changed if their whole life perspective is too? I'm glad I do mushrooms because they make me who I am and I think that who I am is a lot better than who I was. But enough blabber..I guess you can always say about yourself with or without drugs. Cause you can always be better.

vision is a product mainly of the brain, not the eyes. the reason why vision can change temporarily or permanently during/after tripping is most likely due to the ability to project mental ideas and constructs more clearly, or at least more in depth, in your mind ...
art is like a ripple that flows from the site where the psychedelic took plunge ... psychedelics affect ALL aspects of our lives, and thus art is affected in it's wake as a by-product ...

I think the best for art are: lsa, salvia, lsd, shrooms in that order
shrooms have always stimulated my imagination & salvia makes me more introspective. good for art. Sally has the potential to change you permanently.

Even pot, mildly psychedelic has changed the way I create/view all forms of art. Even the way I construct my sentences are different.

Well my style is constantly changing but, yes, I'd say that drugs have had an effect on my style. Maryjane's probably been the biggest influence. I used to only draw pretty little things- perfect things; shit with oil pastels and colored pencils, I could make things look like they were airbrushed or some kind of digital image. Then I got into using oil paint and I had a few good professors that pushed me away from my totally anal style of drawing that I thought was so perfect.
Smoking some dank bud while working on a painting is like zen. It opens me up. Now I no longer paint and draw with my hands and wrists but with my whole body and pot just makes it gravy; it's like a dance. Of course, I'd be lying if I said that all the other psychedelics I've done didn't have any influence.
I've posted these here before so don't think I'm trying to be an attention whore, but for purposes of your paper and in the name of research..... http://www.flickr.com/photos/jgaulin
-------------------- On storing pedro tea... Brewmaster: Well, the mescaline will still be in there, but I'd be afraid of it conjealing and trying to escape after it grew in size from eating all the other shit in my fridge, and possibly my dogs if it got out. Pithlit: sentient drugs, now that is an idea ... OneMoreRobot: Idea? It's a fuckin' reality. You know Salvia? Nigga stole my TV.
