I've thought about this for a while, and I also would like to be buried naturally. No embalming fluid, coffin, or stone grave marker. I want the energy that makes up me to be returned to the earth from which it came. Ideally, some plant life would be grown on my burial site, so I may directly feed another life form.

I don't understand why we still hold onto this ancient concept that our bodies need to be preserved for as long as possible. Death is another part of life, albeit a frightening part to most. The sooner we accept this, the more satisfied we can be as people in life.

I don't understand either. The characters in Six Feet Under who were the dead woman's parents found the idea of being buried as you are disgusting. They couldn't deal with the idea of their daughter being eaten by maggots! How pathetic. It's not as if the dead feel the maggots eating away their rotting flesh. No, they're passed on. As people have said, from death comes life. It's a cycle.

Death is an important part of life. It's usually the shortest part of life normally occurring at the end.

the whole ceremony that occurs after you die really isn't for the person whom died it's for the people who are still alive.

I don't care about the coffin that will biodegrade too but I really dislike the cement they put around the coffin. Personally I would like to just be thrown into a hole. or if I wasn't buried too deep I would like some kind of tree seed placed in my mouth before burial.
