Then yes. I don't care what anyone says to me, it's not natural and it's not right. I PERSONALLY feel it's a by-product condition of our fucked up society. No one could ever convince me a person is born gay.

On that note though, I am not a hater or a serious homophobe. I keep what I feel to myself, unless asked like in this topic.

Everyone makes their own choices and just because I don't agree doesn't mean I have to hate on them. I make choices in my life that other people wouldn't agree with either and I don't like being hated on for it.


Homosexuality has been around for aslong as well - living things have been around. It's not something that is 'new'. Natives had homosexuals, and called them 'two spirited' and held them in high regards. for Ancient Greeks, having homosexual relationships was rather perfectly normal.

Homosexuality also occurs rather frequently in the animal kingdom - its been observed in 1,500 species, and well documented in 500 of them. If homosexuality is simply a by-product of society, then how do you explain animals? or how it cropped up in other cultures that had no contact with each other many, many, many, many, many years ago?

If homosexuality was a fairly recent thing, and a human-only thing (ie: popping up within say, the last few hundred years) - then I could see looking towards aspects of society as the cause of it. However, with it having such a long standing within humans, and also appearing in many other animals - I find it hard to say that its a 'choice' or a result of social enviroments.

The only reason it seems that there may be more gay people now, is simply due to the exposure. Its now a 'hot topic' and not something that is taboo and not talked about. Also, now that it is becomming more acceptable for people to be openly gay - less people are hiding it.

While I'd venture a guess that the % of gay people has probably been the same for a long time, the % of openly gay people has probably increased drasticly over the past few years and will continue to do so.

The only choice homosexuals have, is the choice of "do I act on this or not". Sexual orientation, sexual identity, and how one acts sexually can be totally different things.

I could of made the choice to deny being gay, and try and force myself to date girls / have sex with females, and do the whole "lets start a family thing" and lived a lie and deceived my friends, family and partners. Or, I could make the choice to act on my natural instincts/urges and live my life openly and honestly.
