What to Do in LA besides Heroin?

I'm in LA for a week on Spring Break and I need some ideas about how to entertain myself, besides shooting up.  even though that would be fun, too.  Anyone know of any places that would be worth checking out, ie music venues, cool stores, places of interest, shady dealers addresses?  :smile:

Oh No! Oh My! plays at Echo tonight. Alexi Murdoch plays this coming Friday at the El Rey. That same night the Dandy Warhols play the Wiltern. and next Saturday Snowden and Malajube coheadline Echo. That will be a great show.

pick up an LA weekly or go to their website (laweekly.com) and look through their music or art listings for the week. Your pretty much guarenteed to find somehing that will interest you.


jambase.com shows something going on in SoCal almost every other day

museum of contemporary art http://www.moca.org

or check out the getty center, its a huge, free art museum on top of a hill. cheap beer and wine too

Venice beach

griffith park, griffith observatory (also free)

you can have bonfires on newport beach in OC


their are hiking trails in the malibu moutain range and alot of mountain bike trails around ventura and ojai or out by san bernadino, I think

you should do heroin.

besides heroin, you should go to either Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, or Disneyland in Anaheim. both are not too far from LA and both can yield lots of fun (Disneyland and hallucinogenics could synergize very well, I'd imagine ... )

you could even hit up Universal Studios ... but avoid Citywalk, unless you want to get hooked up with 16 year old chicks ...

the Getty museum is good for art if you're into museums ... I haven't been there myself, though, so I shouldn't really be recommending it ...

mostly all anybody does here is get stoned .. and then get stoned some more ... nobody really does heroin here, either ... if anything, people love to be sped up, so everybody's on red bull or coffee or meth ... or all of the above ...

your best bet is to meet cool people in hollywood and party ...

I've got a show lined up at the El Rey and I'm going to check out the Getty at some point.  I'm not too into theme parks, but with a little of that famous LA coke I'm sure my mind could change.  :rail:

Fuck all these ideas. except the echo on sunday night residency. Then you can hang out with all the retard hipster bitches. Thats not as bad as spaceland in silverlake. Go there on a monday night and its free but all the people who think echo park is too dirty go to spaceland to be ignoramuses. Fucking LA is a piece of garbage floating on a desert and imprgnated by fake ass networking/only minded chodes.
People in hollowwood ask sooner than any others; so what do you do? looking to see if you can help them further themselves. And any aspiring actress i.e. soon to be porn fuck puppet, has no clue what they really want out of life. As if they have no self. Maybe if you are into manipulating this would be your garden but Fuck man.
Anyway, I'll be back to LA from my 2 month VACAY next wed. I have a new apartment near the beach in santa monica, and hopefully exploring this new area will yield some positives.
We will see.

Now for my recomendations.
Any fun i ever had in LA was downtown. It is dark and dirty and if you like H it is a good place to start. Here man I went on my bands myspace and found a loft party for you Downtown. Its some underground shit with real and hella fake heads of course(its LA).
here you go. Also Long beach (start out at the prospector and find out if there is a party at the Boob.)is a good place to go for shows and parties and fuckin H too of course. You wont miss all the mullitia girls there too. they all have fuckin mullets. i dont understand the whole uniform thing.

You my friend lived there for 2 months right? not enough time to find out that most other large cities blow it away. I hate clubs. i never go clubbing. i interpret "clubs" as the stuff that goes on in hollowwood. That place is ridiculous. I stay away. I go to shows and underground parties art show band hybrid parties and the like. Its just sad that so many people there aren't worth talking to. IMO.
LA has nice weather and griffith park.
