I want to write on a building
    #5922389 - 08/01/06 04:36 PM (17 years, 5 months ago)

I've been feeling the urge to graffiti lately. I've never done it before. I think it would feel great to spray paint a public building. How do you guys feel about graffiti?

As long as you make it look good, go for it. Nothing is worse than bad graffiti.

A structure that the government maintains. I know I'll run a high risk of getting caught, but I mean, I'll only do it once. Then I'll never have to do it again.

government buildings I have no problem with you defacing, privately owned and
accessible to the public, big no no, unless it's artistic and you have prior
permission, no gang signs unless its a big pink elephant to represent the
Gaypublicans in office right now

Don't do it its not worth the trouble of geting caught. If you were a minor I would say knock yourself out but since your older the porker patrol will have no sympathy on you. Also you have just as much chance getting caught the first time if not more due to inexperience then you do any subsequent time so thats not a good rationale. I was always amazed at how some of these street artists get this shit up under the cops noses right in the middle of public areas even if it is in the middle of the night theres still people around.

It would definately be a government building. I have a lot of resentment and outrage that needs to be expressed towards them.

I'm just trying to think of the perfect graffiti. And the perfect building that would make the most perfect statement.

You see, I'm not going to go out and graffiti the first thing I see. This will be carefully planned.

Goverment building, hell yes. Just be very careful, the price of tagging up a building, especially a GOVERNMENT building , is pretty steep.

jail isnt fun, old friends of mine have gone in for freights, i cant imagine how long theyll keep you for drawing a bit on the establishment walls.

Practice a bit before you  put up your masterpiece, nothing is uglier than bad graffiti with drips.

Dont forget to take a picture!

probably misdemeanor vandalism a bunch of community service and fines and wasted days off from work to go to court is that not bad enough? It would be to me. But my advice even though many here are going to make fun is make a cool stencil you can tape up and paint though its quick easy and accurate and you can reuse all over town ;o) Because I guarantee once you get that rush of getting away with it your going to want more.

OMG, this is so exciting. Now I only have to pick a window. It has to be the perfect window.

And I don't want to hurt anyone. So it has to be at a time when there are no people.

See, I've never vandalized anything before. I'm only going to do it once, I swear.

I love that story.

Once I read a book about a crew on a sailing vessel. They didn't like their captain, so they snuck into his cabin and wiped their dicks all along the inside of his coffee cup. The captain had his usual cup of coffee the next morning.

See...I don't like my "captain" either. I'm just trying to find a way to express my discontentment in a socially unacceptable manner.

Well, I haven't done it yet.  There's still time to pull out.  I mean, I'm a pretty good citizen, overall.  Productive.  Courteous.  Compassionate.

I love people.  I usually don't want to hurt anyone.

I guess I just want to be a troublemaker for the time being.  I want to cut loose.  Usually, I'm the peacemaker.  But recently...I keep having this urge to challenge everything.  To cause trouble, no matter what the consequences.

What does it all mean??!  Is this a phase I'll grow out of?  Does it mean I'm sliding down the moral slippery slope?

Well, here's an option to spraypainting or rock throwing:  LED Throwies
Costs maybe 50-100 dollars, not really all that illegal (maybe littering?), fun to do in public, can be called "art", still pisses off the establishment. I really want to do this, and probably will soon. Just gotta find a government building with metal on the outside.
Here's a video that shows how cool these things are:  Throwie video
Looks like fun, eh? :crazy2:

Neato...

Next time I take LSD, I'll think about whether or not I want to be a vandal. I mean, is it worth my potential freedom? Wouldn't I rather just flee the city and all its establishments and run naked through the forest covered in mud??!

WOULDN'T I??!

That does sound more appealing, and it does satisfy the urge to get buck wild.

I saw that at the Ledges. It looked SOOO awesome. Maybe that's what stimulated this whole "I want to write on a building" thing.

Next time I'm at the Ledges I'm going to write something on that tunnel.

be careful on the delysid... a friend once deceided it would be a good idea to jump on a cop car while he was tripping on some blots.. well he got tackled to the ground hard. and spent most of the day in lockup gettin questioned as to why he would fucking do something so dumb.

Escaping from a psych ward isnt one of the easiest, nor smartest things to do. But im not saying its impossible. I can see how it would give a bit of satisfaction to the escapee.

While doing some time in one, one of the orderlies told me on a walk around the grounds that if i tried to run there would be no doubt that she would catch me and she wouldnt hesitate to break my legs.

Oookkkk.

She also explained how mean cops were to escaped "crazies"

thanks lady.

I've been in a psych ward before. I could see numerous opportunities for escape if I was really hell bent on doing so. I even heard a story of a guy who managed to escape from that same one.

Of course, could have just been mental hospital rumor.

i recommend you make a stencil. that way you can put some thought into it and make it somewhat artistic and also minimize your time spent appying it to the appropriate surface. but with stencil you're limited to smaller designs...
It really depends on how much visibility you want your painting to have.

best way to "escape".. be good!... act really nice ( not in a weird way either  ) and continue to tell your doc your doing fine and want to be released...  i got out in like 2 days cause of that

as long as youre not in there cause you got busted by the police and ordered by the courts.. they can let you out whenever your doc says so

Am I the only one who liked the week I spent institutionalized? It was like a vacation. Sure there were some fucked up kids but a lot of them were cool. And I got a chick that probably wouldn't even have looked at me on the outside. I kinda wish I could go back. The only part that sucked was at the time I was under 18 so they didn't let me smoke. I spent a week scavenging cigarette butts.

I don't know though...what if someone slips on the glass and injures themselves?

I mean...I guess I could just get a paintball gun and go at it. Doing something with color appeals to me. I would throw an egg but it doesn't seem dramatic enough.

This is kind of off your topic but I have been having a problem with the Local thugs tagging my neighborhood.. It was all cool when it was away from my house but as soon as they tagged the stop sign in front of my pad I took action..
I made a stencil and started tagging over there crap work.. LOL I must say my stuff looks better and it pissed them off for the fact they have sprayed over my tag ..
We have gone round and round and it seems I have won..

There gang sign's were covered with my stencil that Say's..

"White Pride"

Idk man, the food at the hospital i was at sucked. But it didnt really matter i wasnt eating much anyways.

Yeah seriously, if your not baker acted you can basically talk your way out of  long stays or talk your way into them.

Once, i was just so fed up with my mom i got them to give me an extra 3 days.

Another time i got out in two days. ( i think 48 hours is the minimum stay)

Back on topic, i like the paintball idea, or get a shroom stencil. But the whole  glass thing  kind of worries me, what if  a little kid  run's by and cuts his foot?

Or a puppy?

:frown:

Well its kinda funny.. I'm in mo way raciest but the Brown population round here have been driving me crazy with all this Brown and Proud stuff.. There was a killer rock station here and a year ago they went Latino.. Now there big saying on the radio is Brown and Proud.. It seems to me that we .. The white folks in my neighborhood have been run out by the gang bangers and such.. I just felt that I wanted to stick out a message to let these guys know that a Kraker was getting a bit pissed off at all the Brown and Proud stuff..
I don't see why they can say Brown and Proud on the radio .. But if a white guy stands up and says White Pride he is automatically considered a raciest... I'm not! But why cant I say this?

Have you ever considered arson? That shit was the biggest rush of all when I was 14-15 way much more of a rush then spray paint vandalism. We used to burn down dumpsters and stand alone bathrooms in parks with very simple time delay ignition devices.

i agree.

elle you seem like a really cool chick and it seems like all you really want is to satisfy some primitive urge to doing something crazy. dont let anyone here tell you it's wrong because at the end of the day we are just animals and still have primitive desires. however being highly evolved animals we tend to have a sense of conciousness for our fellow animals, and thus i dont think you should vandalize/ break a window etc.

i think some ideas mentioned here are very good i.e throwies, running naked in the wild, escaping from a ward ;-).

if i was you i would do some crazy street art in the middle of a very crowded sidewalk, dance, sing, wear colorful clothing. something to remind yourself and the people around you that there is more to life than their ridiculous 9-5 shifts. if you DO decide to paint something on a wall, why not use chalk? or something more easily removable.

just remember follow the golden rule: do to others as you would like them to do to you

how is a twenty five foot neon mcdonalds sign more pleasing to the eye than a dope piece of graffitti? graff is art and more people should do it. i fucking hate how our public space has been privatized for advertising, to me that is far more ugly than graff. gang graffitti is just as gay as gangs themselves however. spray on, spray on and try not to get caught. (also graff is addicting, you may not be able to do it only once)
