Casing Mistake?

When I cased substrate was still warm from microwave.I used only one cake spread over about 6-7 inch foil bread pan, and cased on top with 2-3 inches of wet vermiculite on top. Kinda evened it out, and covered with tin foil. Poked holes. And placed in incubator.It has only been a day. How long until I see mycelium pop through? Anyone have an estimation? They are Eq's on brf. And did I make a mistake by adding substrate while still warm? If so it was only one cake, and a practice casing. Also the mycelium substrate layer was thin, a single layer across bottom casing layer. That bad? Should have used a cup or something huh?

3-4 days to see some spots, patch those up, wait 2-3 days then introduce light and fresh air.

when i put my casing layer on its one step under too hot to touch, ive never had any problems with it.

But will the single cake be enough for this casing?
Will it take longer to pop through? Someone let me know.

1 cake will be enough to get some fruits. It depends on how big your casing space is. You want AT LEAST 1/2 inch of substrate. The more the merrier. It will work but next time use more cakes for healthier, larger flushes.
