To Hookah or Not to Hookah

So I'm thinking of buying a hookah. I've had it at my friend's house a few times and I think its great. The only thing I'm worried about is that it will be too good and then just become habit forming and/or addictive. Any estimates on how much a week I would spend on tobacco and coal if I smoked it 1-2 times a day?

Hmm...I could go for some hookah...

I just finished smoking some shisha out of my hookah not too long ago,cherry and blueberry mixed...fuckin great man.If you do get one...get the charcoal named 3 kings...last pretty long.

I don't want to make smoking tobacco a habit, so I don't have a hookah. I feel like I would smoke it all the time if I had one.

Exactly. But have you ever tried setting up and cleaning the mother? Itll put you off quickly.

Not really... for the last 3 days of a recent visit to a friend, I smoked a hookah every night before going to bed. It wasn't a hassle at all.

scrape the old ashes off, empty the burnt shisha, add new shisha, add the screen (or new foil), light the coals (they were self-lighting so all I needed was a zippo), place coals on top, smoke and enjoy. Yes, it was a bit of an ordeal, but I enjoyed the process.

dont get self lighting coals they taste like shit and smell like some wierd chemical is burning...

try to get the most natural coals there are... never tried three kings but i dont trust circular coals i go with the japanese coals that are sticks they have no taste but you have to light them on the stove but it is well worth not smoking the self light ones...

You should clean the hookah between each use.

I smoke at most a couple times a week. I burned out pretty quick smoking it every day or even every other day.

i got a really nice hookah (paid almost $100 for it). i've smoked out of it once... i didnt like the hookah tobacco i got, and before i got more i decided to quit smoking all together. so if you're interested i'd let mine go for about $60. its a 26 inch single hose Egyptian style with a cobra hose, carrying case, wind cover, coals, and comes with other extras. I'll upload pics if you're interested.

if you get a hookah dont go cheap, better to get a quality one. Also, its not very addictive, compared to other kinds of tobacco it seems. I had no problem smoking my hookah a few times a month on one pack of 5 dollar tobacco. I kept it in a jar to keep it fresh. Its fun to smoke with friends and talk. Charcoal is cheap, buy it online you can get all the charcoal you can use for cheap. You won't get addicted to it unless you go out of your way to smoke it all the time. If you smoke to much you will get sick, so that will keep it down. Its not nearly as bad for your health as cigarettes either but the buzz isnt as direct or strong.

Interesting. Ive always noticed the round ones smelled and tasted wierd, chemically like you say, but Ive never seen any other types of coal so I just stuck with what was offered...
