Japanese laptop- help!

Hey, I have laptop issues. My laptop is Japanese, and I am not.
I have been able to navigate the menus to get it online but now I can't get to install any programs - i run into problens with the doc and settings/owner file b/c i have 3 of them - i think this is because i tried to switch to a better language and failed.
can anyone help, or is this bitch just a net slave with no potential?
