(polyfil lid) inject into or ontop of substrate?

I know this has been brought up many times, but im stil a little confused. Should the spores be sprayed ontop of the substrate, or injected it into the substate? Which would result in faster inoculation? using the whole brown rice tech. without a verm layer on top. Thanks

shot it down the sides so it slides down to the bottom. this will result in stripes of the jar colonizing

If you want to spend the extra cash, get some of the plastic lids from sporeworks.com, drill a large hole in the center for gas exchange... and a very small hole near the edge of the lid (try to get it just large enough for a 16 guage needle), you can innoculate through this and later tape it up... and you dont have to worry about bending metal lids or rust...

also, the plastic will withstand the high temps inside a pressure cooker.. so its all good.

keep checking, i will post my setup when my digital camera cables get here... peace.

So I can shoot into one spot (down the side of the jar)? Im only Inoculating through one hole.
