wheat straw vs bird seed for master spawn?

I have been reading the recent posts about birdseed and they seem to be very interesting. What about wheat straw? Is straw seed or rye grain better for creating spawn, to multiply jars ?

most whole grains will work equally to "multiply spawn".

they each have unique characteristics that might make one or the other better suited for your operations.

Wheat straw is not a seed...it's a straw. I think you just worded your post wrong?

I've never seen straw seed but I'm guessing that it would work (since mycellium seems to like the straw itself).

At the moment I like rye grain best for multiplying spawn. I havent tried anything else
