Separating Seed "heads" from wheat straw
    #1578085 - 05/26/03 12:18 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

Several teks mention removing seed heads when chopping straw. Has anybody ignored this and not met with catastrophe? Imagine your wife buying a couple bales of wheat straw because she found a good deal ($1 a bale) only to find thousands of seed heads. Imagine that previously you used rather expensive craft straw that had no seed heads so you feel hesitant to proceed without some external insight on the issue.

No contams for me, but i was supprised to have straw growing from my casing. I picked most of them, they were mostly there right when i was done incubation of the casing layer. I dunno if this is a problem, or not, but they are both 3 flushes strong, and im happy.
