What ratio for bird seed to dung?

Last time i tried horse shit i cased on top and had great results. The shrooms were thicker stemmed and much taller but I`ve read that mixing the dung with the grains is even better than just casing on top. Can anyone tell me the ratio I should make my substrate? 1 part to 1 or what? thanks in advance

I too am interested in a reply to this question. I believe i've read that its something like 20% spawn to compost/dung. Hopefully this is sort of accurate because I just used 3 1/2 pint B+ birdseed jars to inncoc around 12 cups of compost in a autoclave bag.

do you want to add dung in youre substrate or add it to the colonized cakes before casing????

I want to mix crumbled colonized bird seed spawn with dung to create a bulk substrate and let pin .......Aluminum......Wondered how much spawn to dung

Thanks Ralphster!.  I`ll try that. My friend raises horses and I get all the older stable crap I want :smile: I just called my local feed store and they have bales of wheat straw for $4.50 a bale...That`s cheap. I`m ready to go to the next level..l!!!!!!!!!! Yippeeeeeeee !  I have 3 quart jars  of bird seed almost fully colonized with PES Amazonian  ...... These should be HUGE !!!!!!!! Going to patuerize horse shit & wheat straw. Sounds like the breakfast of champions from what you top fungi fanatics say. I`ll post pics when they arrive:)

Both the composted dung (from home depot) bags i made the other day are showing nice signs of growth even though they're incubating fairly cold.
