C-WEBB coming to DEEETROIT

Yes, Chris Webber is finally coming home. Even though he is older and isnt the superstar he used to be, he is still good enough to start over nazy mohammed. Trust me, his numbers will go up playing here again, he never won that championship with Michigan and that alone will drive him to try to be the best player he can be. That and for the first time in his basketball career hes not going to be expected to be more than anything but a role-player, that will also be to his advantage. If he could average 10 points and 10 rebounds a game here he will be loved here more than he would have been in any other city. The Pistons made the right choice signing him and this move will, mark my word, push Deeetroit Basketball back to elite status in the East.

i think it was more a move for webber than detriot.. he'll make a nice defender coming off the bench.. if wallace gets into foul trouble or something..

i think it def adds some depth in the paint for them.

Yeah, its an okay signing, I guess. But its not like, "WOW!"

I dont think he'll start either, and if he does, something is wrong.

Detroits still going to finish 3rd in the division.

Yea but have any of you guys actually seen nazy mohammed play? Hes not very good, therefore chris webber is definitely a better option starting than him. And like i said before, Webber has unfinished business when it comes to playing basketball in Michigan. That alone i believe will elevate his game which will make him a better player than he was in Philly. But maybe im just a bit biased since my aunt used to babysit him when he was just a boy.

yeah.. webber is washed up.. not completely but i dont think hes good enough to be a starter again.. i dont think that was the purpose in signing him

i think he is just going to add some depth in the post for detriot and maybe give them a much better shot at a title in the east.

I just looked up webbers 06-07 stats and hes been averaging 11 points and 8 rebounds and a block per game. That is definitely better than what mohammed was averaging and it looks like the Pistons are trying to trade mohammed. Mohammed said he wants out if he doesnt get his minutes. It looks like the Pistons are interested in trading him for Marko Jarkic of the Timberwolves.

sounds like you are much more familiar with detriot than I am.. but.. Muhammad doesnt even play that often, they usually rotate McDyess and Dale Davis down to the 5 spot.

Muhammad is only averaging about 18 minutes per game..
7pts, 5 boards, 1 block...

so not much worse than Webber, and webber is playing an average of 31 mins per game.. so i dont know if i would be quick to slide Webber in as a starter.. i dont know where you got the idea that he'd make a better starter than Muhammad.

No, actually ALLEN IVERSON put the sixers in the shithole not Webber. Every single player on the sixers couldnt stand Iverson cuz he was such a ball hog and they were all sick of his antics. After A.I left the sixers were playing 50/50 ball. And the reason Mohammed doesnt play that often is because hes not very good. Thats why he no longer starts. As for Chris, he averaged 20 points a game last season with 11 rebounds, besides Iverson, he was your best player. Though I do like willie green, hes pretty good and i see him improving further. One thing that is for sure though, is that the Pistons play tommorrow night against the Jazz and ill be curious to see if Webber starts. Whether he starts or not, Ill be watching him particularly close to see how much of an impact he makes.

No bro, Webber plays NO defense anymore and that amplified throughout the team that was soft on defense. Webber's salary also left the sixers in a fucking mac truck sized hole. His buyout SUCKED as well. But I do agree that iverson was a not a good fit anymore since the finals run. He is not a point guard at all.

Webber isn't the answer to Detriots big man problem, either is Mohammed, in fact Mohammed is probably going to get traded, that leaves Dale Davis as Detriots only big man, who actually isn't that bad, considering how old he is, also Miami and Shaq aren't going to be in it this year, so it might not be that big of deal, just hack the Shaq and that solves it. But in the west, there are some good team, Dallas, Phoneix and San Antonio, it doesn't matter though, Webber is a non factor, and Gay I is also a non factor in the long run, I didn't like their trade with Earl Boykins for Steve Blake neither,

If Iverson is not a point guard, then Philly should have gotten him a decent point guard (not Eric Snow) to fill that position.

where do i start.. atomicshroom.. you didnt address anything i said on my last post on the first page...

there is little chance that they would leave dale davis as the starting center, right now they rotate, muhammad, davis, and mcdyess... and with webbber added now.

as for A.I... i like what he is doing in Denver.. im not sure if Melo is back yet or not.. but he has them playing for the 8 spot in a very competitive west... him and melo are going to make a hell of a scoring duo.
