Agar's special mushroom compost

A guide I was reading for growing Panaeoluses calls for 6.5 parts Agar's special mushroom compost (via dry weight). Since they seems to come out great, I'd really like to know what Agar's special mushroom compost is.

Anyone know?

It's a compost specifically designed for mushroom cultivation . Not sure if it's available anywhere but through contests and giveaways .

He was going to market it but due to some health issues , I believe that has been put on hold .

We're all lucky that Agar still takes the time to lend his wisdow to the site . :heart:

If thats the case, does anyone either know what was is in it, or know of another substrate that could be used in bags and inoculated with a liquid culture?

Thanks for the kind words, you'all.

No big secret what the compost was made of.
Primarily, Chopped wheat straw, cow/horse/chicken manure, spent brewery grain & fruit produce refuse. Treated with gypsum, vegetable oils, and seaweed extract.

Row, monitored, watered, turned & composted through Phase 1 & 2.
Phase 2 was extensive, to raise beneficial microbe levels very high.

Start to finish is near 2 months.
Plus, it required extensive equipment.
The average Joe, would not have use of.

But, anyone with outdoor room, basic compost ingredients & skills.
Can make a very fine compost, tailored for cubensis.
It is just a lot of manual labor.
If you don't have a shredder & turner.

EDIT TO ADD:
Myco Nitro compost was the only bulk substrate.
That I could get to colonize & fruit via LC injection.

Wow, that is some nice compost - shame I couldn't finish a batch before the start of my project.

I wanted to make a couple liquid cultures, but no reason too without something that can use them.

Make it anyway,you can never have too much LC :rockon:

yeah whip up a batch of LC anyway. I think you might have been put off by the

comment. It's the only BULK substrate that he could colonize with LC. You can still make jars of wbs or rye and spawn them to coir, hpoo, straw what ever other bulk substrate you want.
