hydro salvia feeding....

i want to give hydro salvia a try but i don't know what kind of differences in food it needs as opposed to soil... i have a cutting i was going to put in a homemade hydro setup, i've never done anything hydro before though so i dont know how much difference there is to soil... any help or suggestions would be appreciated...

I would also like to know if g0pher plans on smoking these leafs? I didnt think so, but since there is more interest in this topic (and this seems like a good question) how are you going to flush for consumption?

I think he mainly intended it as a way to start the plants not for the whole life-cycle..
