flaming needles

when innoculating i use a plastic psuedo glove box. is flaming the needle after each hole ( PF method ) a must. if so how will i know when the needle i cooled so the heat does not kill the spores? any suggestions would be great....thanks

You can flame sterilize the needle before each jar, and wipe the needle with alcohol between each innoculation hole. Right after you flame the needle, you can wipe it down with alcohol to help cool it and to wipe off any of the black residue from flaming.

Needle flaming is overboard. You can get away with just wiping it down with a cotton ball soaken in 70% iso.
