GladWare oven trays

For those who don't know & just starting out.
Glad ovenware trays are good for small scale bulk substrate.
Tray is opaque & has a tight lid.
2....1/2 inch holes drilled in the lid.
Covered with double Micropore tape handles gas exchange

That pic looks like its full to he brim. Do you jsut use a regualar casing method but above the side of the tray?

Lid sits about 1/2 inch deep into the tray.
Lid is touching spawned substrate.
But, not compressing it.
Once spawned substrate is fully colonized.
Remove lid & add 1/2 or 5/8ths inch casing layer.
Flip lid upside-down & use 2 small pieces of masking tape.
To hold it in place while casing layer colonizes.
Once you see rhizo's appear.
Remove lid & expose to 12/12 light cycle, FAE & high Rh. :tongue: :thumbup:

These are what I use. mine are around 5qt with measurements on the side. They work well and best of all they were free, I work at a nursing home and they restocked w/new basins, so I grabed 30!
