Gladware
    #3015118 - 08/17/04 08:53 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Im going to try and Use Gladware Containers for WBS casing. Doing the lazy/smart way of colonizing the WBS in the Tubs than just adding the casing layer on top. What would be an approiate size to use.

I see 2 companies make sizes 250 ml, 500mkl, 786ml, 948ml, and 1.25l. (approx).

I already by chance have 2 x 1.25l. Is there any thing else I should take into consideration when trying to use these sort of containers? Like do the handle PC well?? should I fully wrap in foil just in case the lid pops off? Any idea's Suggestions ?

Thanks ppl

I just wipe 'em down with alcohol before putting in my casing material.

Don't forget to cover the sides so you don't get pins where you can't reach them....

It is not necessary but generally it does not hurt and could potentially be helpful...

Its a great way of doing casing less messing around involved, Ive got 2 x 1ltr Pyrex tubs at the moment going. But Pyrex is expensive Gladware is cheap shit.

Definitely put a verm layer under it. Once those babies start to fruit, they will want the moisture.... my casing pulled away from the sides about 1/4" toward the end of my first flush.

I've already put up a post where I did this and it will work well for ya. Just look for gladware that says microwave safe and it can handle heat well. Also if the plastic has a triangle with a 5 in it and a "PP" under it it should be just fine

You guy are into something I fucked around with last year. Using grocery store lunch containers
After going thru the norm PCing and successful fruits. I thought.....

What about using the Mirco and nuke the brown rice power and verm????

Unfortunalty I did not pursue it long enough to say for sure it works.( My wife bought me a very expenisive PC )

But I did have more than good results. It would be safe to say 70% made it to fruit.
Here is what i did.
I used the small containers ( GLAD BRAND )
filled them with BRP and verm an top
Poked a tiny hole in the top
Taped the lids on ,very important
Stacked them 4 at a time in the nuker
Zapped them for 10 min.
Put them hot into a big bag
Sprayed the inside of bag with lysol very heavy --- To keep the air sucking back into containers as clean as possiable?
and shut it up in the closet.
The next day incolute as the norm thru hole on top
Wait......
This produced some bad but more good than not.

Anyway it ain't exact but It might be worth pursuing but, for me,
I GOTS ME A BIG FANCEY PC :crazy2:

I vote for WBS and PC'ing. WBS = the bomb! big 1ltr tubs colonize very fast. I'll never use (shouldnt say never) BRF again.

lol Don't have martha yet, but then again kmart closed down here. btw the glad ware is great. I use em. Anything that cuts out a step I'm all for. I didn't put a layer of dry verm on my current ones. We'll see how they do.
