Marijuana and mania? Need help.

In the past few weeks I have been developing symptoms of Hypomania, which have escalated and is now disrupting my studies. What was slight distractability is now a near total loss of concentration. Sadly, finals are approaching and I have become distraught.

Despite both my grandmother and nearly every male on my maternal side having severe bipolar, I decided to quit my medication this summer because of its side effects (I never took psychological diagnoses seriously).

I am guessing that I'm having hypomanic symptoms which include:
- Racing thoughts. topic to topic with little or no correlation between them.
- difficulty falling asleep. In fact it takes nearly an hour.
-difficulty staying asleep. I sleep no longer than an hour before waking..no matter how tired I am
- decreased appetite.
- Difficulty concentrating. I supplement this by reading things around 4-5 times

My question is whether marijuana can be used to alleviate symptoms or will it exacerbate it? I'm talking a low enough dosage that will not leave me stoned out my gourd.

If anyone has had similar symptoms and know first hand, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Starting medication again is not an option as they take nearly a month to take effect.

there's only one way to find out. take a few hits and see. If it works, then problem solved. If it doesn't work, then now you can knock off one more thing that doesn't help. Even if it doesn't work the time would've been wasted anyway so why not just try it and let us know?

Yeah.. I think it would help. Helps me.

Part of the reason is your muscular tension. I think that MJ is just one of many solutions that could/should be explored.

Your health is a big factor here. Eat, sleep, exercise the right way. Ask me if you need more specific help - do some searches if you want. I've posted stuff before.
