Day after Thanksgiving finds
    #6309495 -

Went hiking at the coast the day after Thanksgiving to atone for excess calorie intake. Here are some photos I got.

A. muscaria

Witches butter

Some type of Russula

Hope everyone had a great holiday!!!

the butter is out this time of year, I found a ton of it the past three times in the wild, is it edible? it looks like butter that you microwaved and made into a gell all seperated like.

It is edible, but has no taste. Is like flavorless gelatin. Once when I was hiking with my brother I ate some just to mess with him.

Yeah the butter (or something very similar) grows from sticks and twigs around here. Even in the winter time when nothing else seems to be fruiting. There is also another very similar looking but more orange species that grows with or nearby them. I haven't tried any of those before though.

i think theres two kinds, one is a more orange dark solid color, and has a more gum like feel too it, the other being a yellow/transclucent color with a more water jelly feel.;
