Terrarium setup

I cased with straightverm and cold shocked for twelve hours.
The box has perlite and water in the bottom with a small amount of H2O2. On top, since I couldn't find plexi glass, I used the face of a clock. Plastic of course . This is sealed and directly in the middle.
There is a heating pad underneath the box and an ordinary green light above the box.
I have no idea of humidity yet, but my casing went in this morning. It still has the saran wrap on it....Could someone please guide me through this. Maybe some recommendations?

You might wanna put a small towel under your heating pad. Check the inside of your terranium once or twice a day to fan and look for condensation. If you see little to no condensation, mist the sides of it with distilled or boiled water. When you say "ordinary green light", do you actually mean a green colored bulb??

Uhh...the light is supposed to be one of those cheap grow lights. I got it from the garden section of Kmart.
There is condensation. Seems there is plenty of it... Thanks for the towel tip!

Unless you're somewhere cold and dark it sounds like you've accidently combined your incubator and terrarium. The heat is usually used for incubating jars and letting casings recover and resurface. These both happen in the dark. The light is for fruiting. But you really don't need much light at all. If it's light enough to see in your terrarium, that's enough. So a terrarium near a window is fine, but you still need a light for a closet or basement setup. This all happens pretty much at room temp with less attention on heat and more attention on air exchange. Hope that helps.

Thanks WakeUpLate.
So. The grow light will be suffient; my casing has condensation on the inside of the saran wrap cover. I this alright!? Or maybe I should post this in the cultivation forum.
What is that thing they use to measure the humidity?

You're in the right forum man. Just hang in there. Condensation inside the saran wrap is normal but did you poke a few holes in it? If you didn't you should. I prefer foil at this point but that should work fine. The thing to measure humidity is called a hygrometer or humidity gauge. A reliable analog gauge can be had for 3 bucks or about the best around is at radio shack for 30. Radio shack has a cheaper one for around 20 but the extra ten bucks is money well spent. The 30$ version is actually a remote sensor for a wireless unit that comes with a base unit and one sensor(59$) and will monitor up to three different terrariums at on time from the base (desktop) unit. Don't get the one with the dangling probe. The back of the box on it rates it for lower humidities. I bought a (red)digital from Technika that was pure junk(22.50$) But an analog that is calibrated (easily done with a capful of salt and a ziplock) can be pretty accurate. After a little practice you don't really even have to have a hygrometer at all, but they help you to get a feel for it. Hope that helps.
