Listen to this crock of bullshit:

"The MPAA is lobbying congress to push through a new bill that would make unauthorized home theaters illegal. The group feels that all theaters should be sanctioned, whether they be commercial settings or at home.

The MPAA defines a home theater as any home with a television larger than 29" with stereo sound and at least two comfortable chairs, couch, or futon. Anyone with a home theater would need to pay a $50 registration fee with the MPAA or face fines up to $500,000 per movie shown.

'Just because you buy a DVD to watch at home doesn't give you the right to invite friends over to watch it too. That's a violation of copyright and denies us the revenue that would be generated from DVD sales to your friends," said Glickman. "Ideally we expect each viewer to have their own copy of the DVD, but we realize that isn't always feasible. The registration fee is a fair compromise.'"

Damn. That's fucked up. I'd be more worried about how easy it is to copy this DVD and/or download the entire DVD off the internet. That home theater thing is never going to get passed...

You don't think members of Congress have pimped out home theater set ups? I hope they do, anyway...

i have a 72 inch rear projaction hi-def tv, 2 lay-z boys and 7.1 surround. and i am NOT paying 50 bucks just so i can hang out with friends.

That is one of the most retarded things I've ever heard. Luckily, there's absolutely no way that shit will ever happen. The most they would get out of it would be possibly some sort-of add-on tax to t.v.'s larger than 29", but obviously even that's a stretch. How the hell did anyone allow this dick to actually present this load of crap. I mean, anyone with half a brain should have heard this idea in the board room and said "that is fucking retarded, you're fired". Even if you're the most money hungry fool in the world you have to be able to see that the idea of charging people a registration fee for there fucking T.V. and trying to somehow force everyone to buy the DVD before watching the movie with other friends who have the DVD is banana's. Basically, what he's saying is a husband and wife should both buy the movie before watching it together. Haha, I think I'm as irritated as you are about this DNKYD
