I would go with a Pearl Set. I have three of them ranging from best of the lowest model, best of the middle and best of the best. The Lowest model is by far my favorite. They are good quality sets and you can get one rather cheap.

And?

What happens after they walk into the bar?

DW, Ludwig, Yamaha, Pork Pie, Gretch make the best sets. Buy used and save...also Zildjians all the way around.

If you just want something to mess around with, go with a Pearl Export. Maybe some Zildjian ZBTs or ZHTs if you're lookin for cheap cymbals. With the right heads you can make any set sound decent. I'd recommend Evans EC2s.

am awesome..well built budget drumset is an Ocean Pacific. They are DW's baby brand and put out great sound for a budget kit..They can be found pretty cheap at any guitar center or decent music store.
